The Los Angeles Auto Show is one of our favorite events here at Honda of Grays Harbor, as it serves as a prime showcase for automakers to unveil the vehicles that will make their way to dealerships. One such debut was the 2019 Honda Passport, the new Honda SUV coming to our Honda dealership near Olympia, WA early next year.
This SUV is primed to provide an ideal driving experience for those drivers looking to balance work with play. Here’s Honda division general manager Henio Arcangeli Jr. talking about what drivers can expect: “The all-new 2019 Honda Passport provides the on-road comfort and nimble handling buyers will appreciate on their daily commute with the robust off-road and all-weather capability that make for a great weekend adventure vehicle.”
To help fulfill this promise of performance prowess, the 2019 Honda Passport sports a reinforced frame and 1.1 inch more ground clearance than the Honda Pilot. When properly equipped, it will be able to tow up to 5,000 lbs. with all-wheel-drive. The 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine is poised to deliver 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft. of torque. Inside, you’ll find room for five. Once everybody’s loaded in, you can take advantage of 41.2 cubic feet of cargo space to store their stuff. And when it’s just you and a long to do list, you can fold down the second row seats and make the most of 77.9 cubic feet of space. The i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system will employ active torque vectoring to route up to 70 percent of torque to the rear axle, and 100 percent of that to the right or left rear wheel.
Luckily, you don’t have to wait until next year to drive home from our dealership in a great Honda SUV. We’ve got plenty of new Honda SUVs to choose from, as well as great pre-owned models like a pre-owned Honda Pilot.
